Resort at Squaw Creek's Magical Memories celebration kicks off in a big way at the Gingerbread Village Unveiling and Grand Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 23.
With Santa Claus and Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley both guests of honor at this year's in Gingerbread Village Unveiling and Grand Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 23, there is no better place for families to gather than at Resort at Squaw Creek for this spectacular holiday celebration.
While the entirety of Magical Memories runs from November 22 - January 6, the Thanksgiving holiday weekend brings out vacationers and Tahoe locals for the unveiling of the giant gingerbread village, which is a huge kid pleaser. Carolers, an ice skating presentation, complimentary sleigh rides, the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus for the Grand Tree Lighting, Jonny Moseley alongside Resort at Squaw Creek ski ambassador and pro skier Amie Engerbretson -- this magical free event is not to be missed.
Subsequent Magical Memories days will feature events such as breakfast with Santa, holiday concerts, caroling, children’s holiday crafts, Menorah Lighting, winter wonderland stories with Mrs. Claus, moonlight snowshoe tours, snowman making contests, elf tuck-ins, movies for the kids, exceptional holiday meals and ski film movie nights in Sandy’s Pub. Major musical presentations are offered on December 8 and 9 with a holiday performance by the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus, and on December 23 with Handel’s Messiah performed by TOCCATA. Free local school musical performances take place on November 28, and December 5 and 12.
