Fine Dining Special in North Lake Tahoe

Six Peaks Grille, one of North Lake Tahoe's premier fine dining establishments, is hosting Three Course Thursday each week this summer. At just $35 per person, Three Course Thursday is a delectable introduction to the regionally sourced cuisine at our Squaw Valley Resort.

Six Peaks Grille in North Lake Tahoe is known for its signature
cocktails, innovative
cuisine, and fine dining experience.

Diners can choose from several items on the prix fixe menu, which will change monthly throughout the summer in order to showcase the best ingredients available in the Tahoe Foodshed.

Produce and other items are sourced from Tahoe Food Hub, a local non-profit that brings the best from the foodshed farms straight to the kitchens of Resort at Squaw Creek.

Ask your server for a VIP card to receive a complimentary bottle of wine on your third Three Course Thursday visit.

You can also take advantage of our Nine & Dine special on Thursdays throughout the summer, which includes 9 holes of golf at The Links at Squaw Creek in addition to Three Course Thursday for $68 per person.

Both Three Course Thursday and Nine & Dine will run weekly through October 2.

Golfing the Tahoe Reno area

Last night, The Links at Squaw Creek hosted 22 golf writers for a custom KP contest that included synchronized tee shots from 100 yards out, 9 holes, and, let's just say, rather relaxed golf etiquette.

The golf writers came from all over the country, some to the area for the first time, some as repeat visitors. They all came with the same goal - to see the best of the Tahoe Reno golf courses in one marathon of a week long golf tour. Playing a minimum of 18, but more likely 36, holes each day for a week, the group visited courses in Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, North Lake Tahoe, and Graeagle.

Nice pants! Teeing off during the custom KP contest. Tahoe Reno Golf Tour

Which brings up a good point - you too can tour the Tahoe Reno golf courses, and quite easily from Resort at Squaw Creek as a homebase. All of the major public courses are an easy day drive from our location in Squaw Valley.

From our own course, The Links at Squaw Creek, to Edgewood Golf Course on Tahoe's South Shore, home of the American Century Championship, to Old Greenwood and Gray's Crossing in Truckee, to Whitehawk Ranch just north of the Tahoe area, there are more than a dozen courses in the Tahoe Reno area to keep you busy.

Pick a few golf friends and start planning a trip with one of our summer packages. Our concierge can help you book tee times around the area, and the Spa at Squaw Creek is an ideal spot to unwind and release any tension you build up on the links. A late afternoon swim in our pool, followed by a casual outdoor dinner at Sandy's Pub can top off each day and get you ready for more. Fore!

Best Burger in Lake Tahoe this summer

Sandy's Signature Burger in Sandy's Pub, a North Lake Tahoe restaurant is about to become your new favorite burger in Lake Tahoe. Just look at this marvelous creation. Your mouth is already watering.

Now, picture yourself dining on the patio at Sandy's this summer, perhaps after a round of golf, looking out over the six magnificent peaks of Squaw Valley and soaking up the sun. Order the Sandy's Signature Burger and an ice cold draught beer and dig in.

Now that's summertime in Lake Tahoe!

In case you want to try this at home, here's the recipe:

8 oz. Durham Ranch beef patty
2 slices thick cut pepper bacon
2 oz. Cabernet soaked white cheddar
2 oz. carmelized onion marmalade
Salt and pepper to taste
Franco oatmeal bun
Lettuce, tomato, onion

Season both sides of the beef patty with salt and pepper and place on a hot grill.  After 3 minutes, rotate burger 60 degrees clockwise to create diamond grill marks and let cook another 3 minutes then flip.  Cook 3 minutes and then rotate.  Place cheese on top of burger.  Continue to cook until desired temperature is reached and cheese is melted.   Meanwhile, heat the marmalade and toast the bun on grill.  Place the LTO on the bun and the burger atop the LTO.  Garnish with the marmalade and the bacon.  Place top bun on the burger and enjoy.
