Angel Talavera Named Manager of Resort at Squaw Creek's Six Peaks Grille

Talavera Also to Supervise Room Service

Olympic Valley, Calif. - The AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Resorts & Hotels-managed property, has named Angel Talavera manager of the property's signature restaurant, Six Peaks Grille, as well as room service. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for breakfast, lunch and dinner service at Six Peaks Grille, in addition to oversight of room service operations.

Talavera has worked at numerous resorts and restaurants such as The Peak's at Telluride, Tantra Indian Cousin Restaurant and La Belle Epoch in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Othello's Italian Restaurant and El Conquistador Resort and Spa at Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

"Angel is a great 'people person,'" said Ramon Villegas, Resort at Squaw Creek's director of restaurants. "He really knows the business, and will make sure we deliver the highest level of service to our guests."

When asked about his move to the Lake Tahoe area, Talavera replied, "I have lived in several areas of the United States and, in a short time, Tahoe has become my favorite. On top of that, Resort at Squaw Creek is a great resort, and with this team I feel that we can accomplish any goal."

Talavera joined the Resort at Squaw Creek in November from the Casa Marina Resort & Beach Club in Key West, Florida, where he oversaw operations for the food and beverage outlets.

Recently recognized as one of Condé Nast Traveler's "Top 50 Ski Hotels" in North America, the 405-room and suite Resort at Squaw Creek offers quick access to Squaw Valley USA's more than 4,000 acres of terrain served by an extensive network of 33 chairlifts including North America's only Funitel and the world-famous KT-22 Express lift. Visitors also can enjoy a host of other activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sled tours and an on-property ice skating rink. Plus, the property's on-site ski shop provides ski and snowboard rentals, expert boot fitting, lift tickets for purchase and complimentary ski lockers.
