Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Lake Tahoe at Resort at Squaw Creek

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. – Jan. 28, 2014 – Romance is alive at Resort at Squaw Creek, by Destination Hotels & Resorts. Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Lake Tahoe’s premier resort with attractive lodging offers, prix fixe dinner and special programs to make the night (and morning) kid-free for parents.

Couples seeking the perfect setting for a romantic dinner for two on Valentine’s Day, need look no further than the Six Peaks Grille, which is surrounded by towering pine trees, stunning granite peaks and endless stars lighting up the Olympic Valley. Six Peaks is offering a special four-course prix fixe menu with a welcome cocktail included. The Valentine’s Day menu features selections such as Lobster Bisque with Dill Crème Fraiche; Pork Belly with Bean Ragout Swiss Chard and Chili Oil; Elk Wellington with Eggplant, Sun choke and Romesco; as well Sea Bass with Beet Risotto and Chateau Chalon Sauce. For dessert, a special duet of Molten Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Gelee and Tarragon Syrup with Composed Melon will be served. Dinner is $110 per person and reservations are available by calling (530) 581-6621.

While parents are enjoying a romantic dinner for two, kids can enjoy a fun night out as well. Guests with reservations at Six Peaks Grille receive 50 percent off Resort at Squaw Creek’s Kids Night Out program. A fun Friday night for kids four to 14 years old, Kids Night Out includes a buffet dinner, live DJ, games, crafts, and specialty dessert table, all supervised by the hotel’s experienced recreation team. Kids Night Out is normally $70 per child, however it’s  $35 per child with a Six Peaks dinner reservation on Valentine’s Day. For reservations, please call (530) 583 6300, ext. 11.

Lodging Packages
Resort at Squaw Creek offers two special romance packages to make staying at the hotel a night to remember. The “Valentine’s Day” package includes one night accommodations, dinner for two at Six Peaks Grille, valet parking and a $50 breakfast credit for the next morning. Guests also will receive a 20 percent off voucher that can be redeemed for any 50-minute treatment at the Spa at Squaw Creek. Rates for the Valentine’s Day package begin at $479 per couple.

Resort at Squaw Creek’s “Light My Fire” romance package offers couples a reason to stay inside this winter. The package includes a guest room with a fireplace, “Sparkles and Sweets” champagne amenity, spa turndown, room service breakfast for two and complimentary valet parking. Rates begin at $299 per night, per couple.

Guests staying overnight also can get a break in the morning. The hotel’s Parents Morning Off program gives couples a chance to relax while their children are enjoying a morning of supervised activities. The resort’s recreation team will pick up children from their room between 7 and 8 a.m. on Saturday morning and keep them busy with breakfast and activities until guests are ready to check out at 11 a.m. Parents can enjoy a quiet morning together, take advantage of the Spa at Squaw Creek, the fitness center or take a few runs right from the Squaw Creek lift. Parents Morning Off is $60 for the first child and $30 for the second child.
