Chocolate Takes Center Stage at Resort at Squaw Creek's Chef's Tasting
New take on favorite
Olympic Valley, Calif. - On Thursday, May 15, Resort at Squaw Creek chefs will turn conventional ideas about chocolate on their head. Featuring a variety of dishes with chocolate as a key ingredient, the monthly Chef's Tasting -- with the theme of "The Other Side of Chocolate" -- will present chocolate in ways not commonly associated with the ingredient. In addition to the culinary offerings, wine will be expertly paired with the gourmet dishes at the event, which begins at 5 PM.
The tasting menu includes:
- Raspberry tea crusted duck breast, with spicy white callebaut reduction
- Butter leaf salad, rosemary and Godiva liquor vinaigrette, strawberries and Felchlin shavings
- Venison loin skewers, with Guittard "Le Citronage" liquor dipping sauce
- Watermelon popsicle balls coated in Noel and powdered sugar
Resort at Squaw Creek's signature restaurant, Six Peaks Grille, is the location for this benefit. All proceeds from the event, which costs $15, are donated to the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation.
On June 19, the Chef's Tasting theme will be "Tableside Impressions," with ideas to help guests create entertaining home-cooked restaurant classics for their next dinner guest. Reservations are required. For more information call 530.581.6621, or visit http://www.visitsquawcreek.com/.
