Lake Tahoe's Resort at Squaw Creek Hires Director of Sales

Cory Carlson Named

Olympic Valley, Calif. - AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Hotels & Resort-managed property, has hired Cory Carlson as director of sales for the 360 room resort located at the base of Squaw Valley USA, five miles from Lake Tahoe.  Carlson will oversee a sales team of 5 sales representatives, plus a support team.

"I've known Cory professionally for many years - through his days in Colorado and Lake Tahoe - and he brings with him a wealth of knowledge about mountain resorts," said Les Pedersen, director of sales and marketing for Resort at Squaw Creek.  "We're thrilled to welcome him to the team."

Previously, Carlson served as associate director of sales at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada.  Prior to working in Incline Village, he held several positions at the Park Hyatt Hotel and Spa in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

"I'm delighted to have landed at one of the nation's top ski hotel resorts at the base of one of the great mountains, Squaw Valley USA," said Carlson.  "Resort at Squaw Creek has so much to offer to group and leisure guests alike, and I look forward to promoting the resort."

Carlson, a former member of the U.S. Ski Team and the World Pro Ski Tour, also spent time on television as a color commentator for ski racing.  He lives at Lake Tahoe with his wife, Chris, and 5 year-old daughter, Catrina.

Located 650 acres in Squaw Valley, Resort at Squaw Creek, recently recognized as one of Condé Nast Traveler's "Top 50 Ski Hotels" in North America, features upscale accommodations with panoramic valley and forest views.  In addition to the ski-in, ski-out chairlift, the resort offers several diverse dining options, a full-service spa, and a year-round pool complex with seasonal waterslide.  During the summer months, guest can enjoy golf, guided hikes, river rafting on the nearby Truckee River, miles of bike trails and variety of water activities at Lake Tahoe.
