New Technology Enhances Lake Tahoe Resort's Virtual Experience
Resort and mountain linked virtually
Olympic Valley, Calif. - AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Hotels & Resorts-managed property, has implemented VTour technology, a new generation virtual tour that integrates a robust multi-media experience, allowing potential guests, meeting planners, conference attendees and others to explore the resort before arriving on property directly from the property's Website. Specifically, the VTour gives visitors the opportunity to move from place to place at Resort at Squaw Creek and adjoining Squaw Valley USA in a pedestrian, or, in the case of the mountain tour, from a skier's or snowboarder's view. The viewer chooses the course of exploration and the tour engages, educates and entertains with high definition transitional imaging, integrated audio, video, animation, still photography, and full-screen viewing. The system also includes online booking for hotel, dinner and golf reservations. The tour is available at www.visitsquawcreek.com.
"In the short time we've had the VTour running, we've received many positive comments from viewers conveying the fun and insight they've had through the tour," said Les Pedersen, director of sales and marketing at Resort at Squaw Creek. "However, some of the most significant feedback has come from meeting planners that are thrilled to be able to experience the property in this way before they've ever stepped foot on the resort."
Meeting spaces, accommodations, restaurants, the pool complex, spa and shopping promenade are all explore-ready on the tour. For winter visitors, the resorts on-property chairlift can be ridden to the top of Snow King Peak, from which virtual skiing and riding of Squaw Valley USA can take place.
As North Lake Tahoe's most complete resort, AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Squaw Creek offers 405 luxurious rooms and suites, golf, year-round pool and hot tub complex, mountain biking, guided hikes, tennis, a full-service spa, and a variety of dining options. The Resort's outdoor recreation department, known as High Altitude Adventures, also offers Mountain Buddies, a comprehensive program that introduces children ages 4-12 to mountain recreation and activities.
