NORTH LAKE TAHOE RESORT HAS 'MAGICAL' PLANS FOR HOLIDAYS
Magical Memories Package Offered
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. -- Resort at Squaw Creek's popular holiday program, "Magical Memories," begins in earnest over the long Thanksgiving weekend when the AAA Four-Diamond resort rolls out an impressive array of family-oriented activities. In celebration of the event, a special $199 "Magical Bed & Breakfast" package featuring a Deluxe Guestroom for up to two adults and two children (12 and under) has been released. This offer is valid Sunday through Thursday, non-holiday, November 1 through December 19, 2007.
Magical Memories, which runs 46 days from November 22 through January 6, commences with a Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner just one day prior to the resort becoming a genuine winter wonderland. Complete with ice skating with Buddy Bear, the unveiling of Gingerbread Village, complimentary servings of hot chocolate, holiday music courtesy of carolers and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus and Santa's merry elves, Magical Memories is introduced in style the evening after Thanksgiving (Friday, Nov. 23) with the Grand Lighting Ceremony, which is free to resort guests and the public.
Subsequent days will feature events such as Breakfast with Santa, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Buddy Bear Tea, Winter Wonderland Stories, Ice Skating with Buddy Bear, Snowshoe Tours, S'mores Roasts, Snowman Making Contests, Elf Tuck-Ins, Family Bingo and Kids Movies.
On New Year's Day, from 11 a.m. to noon, a legion of brave souls will greet 2008 with an icy splash into one of the resorts's unheated swimming pools. Hot chocolate will be awaiting the participants afterward, as well as the traditional collegiate football bowl games aired on big screen televisions at Sandy's Pub.
A full complement of special Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day meals also are planned, as are an International Buffet Dinner and Adult Gala event on New Year's Eve.
The resorts's ski-in, ski-out chairlift to Squaw Valley USA provides quick access to more than 4,000 acres of terrain served by an extensive network of 33 chairlifts including North America's only Funitel and the world-famous KT-22 Express lift. Visitors also can enjoy a host of other activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sled tours and an on-property ice skating rink. Plus, the property's on-site Ski Shop provides ski and snowboard rentals, expert boot fitting, lift tickets for purchase and complimentary ski lockers. Squaw Valley USA traditionally opens in late November.
