Resort at Squaw Creek™ Launches New Restaurant, Après Ski Event Series
DJ Chango and Pocket Underground's DJ Pumpkin to Appear
Olympic Valley, Calif. – The world may be ending on December 21, but Resort at Squaw Creek™ is focused on new beginnings. December 22 marks the launch of a new restaurant as well as a series of après ski events. Mountain Pizzeria will offer casual Italian favorites in a comfortable, fun and vibrant slope-side environment. The restaurant will be open all winter season for lunch and après.
To kick things off, the Resort is bringing Pocket Undergound’s DJ Pumpkin from Los Angeles to headline a special event featuring drink specials, a laser light show, free transportation to and from the base of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, a snowboard giveaway and plenty of fun vibes. The party starts at 4 p.m. on December 22 with 101.5 KTKE’s DJ Chango playing into sunset on the deck outside of Mountain Pizzeria. The party will continue on the deck with Pumpkin, lights, lasers, dancing and drink specials. The event will be free and open to all ages, and is the first of a series of events of its kind. Every Saturday will bring another giveaway, drink specials, and live entertainment to the deck outside Mountain Pizzeria.
“We are fortunate enough to have an unparalleled view of Squaw Valley, and we think the addition of live entertainment on the deck will make this event truly special,” said Ramon Villegas, director of food and beverage at Resort at Squaw Creek. “We are really looking forward to celebrating the season and sharing this beautiful space with our guests and the local community.”

About DJ Pumpkin (http://pocketunderground.com/artist/pumpkin)
Pumpkin is not like other DJs. He isn't bound by genre, tempo or playing the latest and hottest tracks. Instead, he finds a familiar thread in songs from multiple genres, styles, and eras, and weaves them into a sound that is all his own.
After starting his first band in 5th grade, and playing on the Sunset Strip before he was old enough to drive, it wasn’t until 2004 that he discovered house music and began the process of transitioning from musician to DJ. In 2006 he was asked to join the LA-based DJ and underground event crew Pocket Underground, and since then has become a mainstay at some of the largest, most innovative festivals in the country, including Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Art Outside & EDC.
Pumpkin's quirky remixes of familiar classics create a sense of dance floor sentimentality that crowds revel in. From Peter Gabriel to The Muppets, Blind Melon to folk songstress Tina Dico, Pumpkin digs deep when selecting a song to remix and reinterpret.
Equally at home in a dark warehouse, a packed nightclub, or sunrise at an outdoor festival, Pumpkin is a master at reading the crowd and adjusting his unique selection to turn any dance floor into a big ol' puddle of lovesauce.
About Chango (https://www.facebook.com/changoradio)
Chango has been playing music since he was nine years old. He started out on the violin and worked his way through the stringed instruments of the orchestra. When he was 17, he began to play guitar and so began his fascination with all things electric. Chango began DJ’ing in 2000 while living in Massachusetts. He had a DJ for a roommate and became interested in how mixing worked. When he got his first set of turntables, he was mostly interested in turntablists— Z-Trip, Mixmaster Mike, Cut Chemist, and Q-Bert to name a few influences. In 2002, Chango returned to his west coast home and began to be involved in a small but burgeoning electronic music scene in North Lake Tahoe. He has been practicing and throwing parties ever since. He calls Lake Tahoe home because it truly is the place that feeds him creatively. It has been the creative spirit of Tahoe that has really brought him deeper into the music scene.
Chango has a regular Sunday night radio show that airs on 101.5 KTKE in Truckee at 9pm. Each week he profiles the local and national electronic music scene.
