Resort at Squaw Creek™’s Sandy’s Pub Takes Title at Truckee Rib Fest
Wins both People's Choice and Judge's Choice
Olympic Valley, Calif. – It’s official, Resort at Squaw Creek™ chefs presented their Sandy’s Pub BBQ baby back ribs at the first annual Truckee Rib Fest on June 20, and took first place in the People’s Choice category, as well as being awarded first place from the expert judging panel. For the winning recipe, chefs combined Sandy’s Pub recipe with a secret rub and a family recipe to come up with the award-winning taste.
“What a wonderful event,” said Resort at Squaw Creek’s Executive Chef, Jason Friendy. “To take the first place prize in both categories was just awesome. We look forward to returning next year to defend our title.” A version of the ribs that won the contest is served in Sandy Pub at Resort at Squaw Creek™. “We receive tons of positive comments on our baby back ribs in Sandy’s Pub,” said Friendy.
"We were thrilled with the turn out for our first year,” said Brinn Wellise, owner and president of Switchback PR & Marketing. “The food was fantastic and we expect an even bigger attendance in years to come."
Switchback PR & Marketing produced the Truckee Rib Fest. The event, which drew over 550 people, also served a fundraiser for Relay for Life.
