'Ski Free' At Resort At Squaw Creek
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. - Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Hotels & Resorts property located at the base of Squaw Valley USA, is giving skiers an opportunity to hit the slopes for free with its "Ski Free" early-season promotion.*
For rates starting at only $179 per night, the two-night special offers deluxe accommodations at the Resort at Squaw Creek and two free lift passes to Squaw Valley USA, one of Conde Nast Traveler's "Top 50 Ski Resorts in North America."
Resort at Squaw Creek's location at the base of Squaw Valley USA, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, provides for quick access to more than 4,000 acres of terrain served by an extensive network of 33 chairlifts including North America's only Funitel and the world-famous KT-22 Express lift. Resort at Squaw Creek boasts North Lake Tahoe's sole on-property chairlift providing ski-in, ski-out access to this mountain known worldwide for its deep snow and areas for all ages and abilities. While visitors are in close proximity to the ski slopes, they also enjoy a host of other activities found at the Resort. Cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, dog sled tours and an on-property ice skating rink provide additional winter recreation options.
Beginning Thanksgiving weekend and lasting for more than five weeks, Resort at Squaw Creek will stage its popular holiday program, "Magical Memories." Magical Memories kicks off the Holiday Season with a Grand Tree Lighting and Gingerbread House un-veiling Celebration on November 24th from 4:00 - 8:00pm. The evening festivities begin with the unveiling of the Resort's Gingerbread Village created in the lobby. Pastry chef Adrain Frutos works with pounds and pounds of icing, graham crackers and candy to create a village of tasty treats. Then experience the resort shine and the lights sparkle before your very own eyes with the Grand Lighting Ceremony at 6:30pm. Enjoy a visit from Santa, carolers, hot chocolate and music. Other activities will include daily Dogsled Rides, Breakfast and Pictures with Santa, Buddy Bear Tea, S'mores Roast on the Spa Deck, Skate with Buddy Bear, Holiday Caroling and a Family Snowman Making Competition.
Resort at Squaw Creek - fresh from a dramatic $53 million renovation - features 405 guest rooms and suites, four distinct restaurants, a luxury spa and full-service salon, exclusive boutique shopping, indoor/outdoor hot tubs, a year-round heated swimming pool and Mountain Buddies, a fully-supervised children's program. In addition, the resort's Cross Country Ski Center offers 18 groomed kilometers of terrain, spanning more than 400 acres, while the property has an on-site ski and snowboard rental shop with complimentary lockers for guests.
*Ski Free promotion is valid from beginning of Ski Season through December 20, 2006 (Blackout dates apply for Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 25.) Taxes and resort fees are not included, and reservations are based on availability, including Squaw Valley USA being open to the public. Traditional opening date is November 18.
